Biography

 

Mr. Kisoun has served on various boards and committees, including the Northwest Territories Tourism Board, the Gwich’in Land and Water Board, the Gwich’in Land Use Planning Board, the RCMP Commanding Officer’s Indigenous Advisory Committee, and the Board of the Inuvik Community Corporation’s Elders Committee. He has also dedicated many volunteer hours over the years to the Muskrat Jamboree Committee and the Northern Games Society, most recently as its President and Chair. 

In recognition of his contribution to the community and his public service, Mr. Kisoun was awarded the RCMP Long Service Medal, the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal, the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Polar Medal.

Mr. Kisoun lives in Inuvik. He has four grown children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
